LUCID’s Features

On-Demand & Real-Time Availability

Each time a flowchart is generated, it contains accurate, up-to-the-minute information from the production libraries. This is done in real-time - no batch jobs are required.

LUCID flowcharts can be generated selectively, on-demand at any time. They can also be generated via regularly scheduled jobs, if desired.

Ease Of Use

LUCID provides graphical illustrations (flowcharts) of the JCL execution flow using standard symbols.

These flowcharts are organized and easy to understand - even for a novice user.

Users have the ability to update the flowcharts directly (including text descriptions), although updating is not required and critical information is automatically generated. Updates are entered once and automatically populated on all applicable flowcharts.

Flexibility & Adaptability

LUCID provides configuration options that allow each client to customize the software to meet their unique needs. Configuration panels are intuitive, easy to use and minimize the administrative work effort.

Platform Independence

LUCID was developed using Java, and is therefore highly transportable across various platforms.

Reliability & Security

LUCID incorporates DB2 network database technology as the communication channel between the IBM mainframe and the PC workstations. DB2 provides a reliable, consistent and cost-effective relational DBMS infrastructure.

LUCID has authentication capabilities to provide the highest level of security. The security features enforce pre-defined privileges and ensure that data transfers are safe and secure.
